Yoga for Knee Pain |
We use our legs in every movement and because of bad habits, bad posture which causes imbalance in the body, our knees start to feel pain. We play sports that exert a lot of pressure on the knees, thus ultimately, there is a lot of wear and tear in the knees. More care of the knees, legs and hips has to be taken as we grow older.
By identifying the possible causes of the pain, how to avoid it, we can modify yoga poses when there is knee pain. Besides alleviating pain, props can also be used to strengthen the muscles around the knee.
Yoga for Scoliosis |
By working with the principle of traction , where the spine is stretch in the various yoga poses, and with the use of the props as support for stabilization, elongation and alignment, Iyengar yoga can prevent scoliosis to degenerate and in many extreme cases, reduce the pain and make the spine straighter. Props also offer external traction to achieve symmetry in the body.
Yoga for Back Pain |
Whether it is caused by sitting for too long in an
incorrect posture, lifting of heavy objects, taking care of children and
household or incorrect posture, lower back pain is becoming a significant
public health problem. Restorative poses are can relieve pain and muscle
tension, after which poses to lengthen the stiff muscles attached to the
spine are introduced. Stiff hamstring are often one of the cause of lower
back pain, thus back pain classes often involves poses to lengthen and use
the leg muscles correctly. Increasing intervertebral disc space and
realigning the vertebra are important in treating back pain. Once the pain
is relieved, the focus will be on strengthening the back muscles.
